100x160 (average) H6 Items H6-11 are from the collection of Philip Titheradge, who served as Custodian of Down House from 1975 to 1989 [20]. Other items from Mr Titheragde's collection can be found in the Cards and Postcards sections of Darwiniana.

H6-8 are images, mainly photographs, that were probably used as originals for making postcards and publication illustrations. H6 is four portraits of Darwin (1840 painting [18] by G. Richmond, c1854 photo by Maull & Fox, 1881 photo by Elliott & Fry, 1881 painting by J. Collier) and two of his wife Emma (1840 painting [23] by G. Richmond, 1881 photo by H. R. Barraud). H7 is photos of Down House that were probably taken by Mr Titheradge. H8 is images of the Beagle, the copy of Das Kapital that Marx inscribed to Darwin, and Vanity Fair caricatures of Darwin and R. Owen.

H9 is photos by Mr Titheradge of the BBC series The Voyage of Charles Darwin being filmed at Down House. The series first aired in the UK on 31 October, 1978 [21].

H10 is a large photo of Mr Titheradge attending a Post Office event promoting the 1982 release of the Darwin death centenary stamps.

H11 is two cards sent to Mr Titheradge: an invitation to the 1980 launching of a facsimile reprinting of Darwin's Beagle notebook (see inside of card here), and a 1982 Christmas card promoting a Rotterdam Darwin exhibition (see inside of card here).
