1898 UK 63 F1 Bronze, by F. Bowcher for the Huxley Memorial Committee [3]. Recovered from the rubble of a blitzed English building during World War Two.
1908 48 F2 Bronze, by F. Bowcher for the Linnean Society. Issued to mark the 50th anniversary of the Darwin-Wallace evolutionary theory paper. Recipients of this medal included an 85-year-old A. R. Wallace and a 91-year-old J. D. Hooker [2]. Darwin portrait is based on c1874 photo by Leonard Darwin (engraving here).
1959 USSR 64 F3 Bronze, by G. S. Chkolsky. Commemorates the centenary of the publication of the Origin of Species. Darwin's portrait is based on an 1874 engraving [7] by C. H. Jeens, from a c1870 photo by O. J. Rejlander.
1974 UK 45 F4 Silver, by John Pinches, from Mountbatten's "Medallic History of Great Britain and the Sea."
1977 Tuvalu 38 F5 Silver, issued with a set of stamps commemorating the Royal Society's 1896-97 expeditions to Tuvalu to test Darwin's subsidence theory of coral island formation.
